A little bit about Joanne...
Joanne Murray graduated with a BSc in Social Work in 2008. During her time as a student social worker Joanne completed her first placement with older people, adults with learning disabilities, physical health and disabilities and mental health. Her second placement as a student social worker was in a maternity hospital working to child protection policies and procedures and to support parents of babies requiring neo-natal care.
She has also worked with Young People in the voluntary sector before commencing employment with Homecare Support Services as a Senior Support Worker in 2010.
Joanne moved to manage the Belfast Support Team in 2011. She manages a team of 8 who support adults with complex needs including mental health, addictions, learning disabilities and physical health disabilities to live independently in the community to prevent homelessness.
I recognised that HCIL could offer me a diverse range of opportunities to professionally develop. As a social worker it has allowed me to practice creatively to promote the best outcome for our clients
I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family
I volunteer with the iCare Charity at events such as, The iCare Purple Run and Santa's Gatelodge
