I Started my career in the care sector when I was just 17 years old. My first experience was working in a nursing home and following that I then decided to make a change and begin working within my local community. I heard about Homecare through word-of-mouth and I was delighted that HCIL gave me the opportunity to join them and I am still here 20 years later!
I am proud to say that I am the longest serving care assistant in the company. My job gives me great satisfaction as I have chosen to care for hundreds of clients over the years and I get a real sense of appreciation from my clients for delivering the best standard of care. My clients are at the heart of everything I do and caring for them is the most rewarding part of my job.
My job does come with some challenges! Keeping to time to ensure my calls run smoothly and not being late for my calls is something I always focus on.
A very fond memory I have is when my client described me as the daughter she never had, having cared for her for 20 years. I love working for HCIL and I am motivated to come to work every day as I know I may be the only contact my clients will have during the day. To see their smiles when I walk through the door and know that I am making a difference in their life, no matter how.
